  • An outdoor ceremony site on the lawn at a covered timber pavilion, with the lake behind the couple and guests in rows of folding chairs
  • An indoor event center with a high exposed-beam ceiling, stone accents and large windows
  • A wood floor with a defined dance-floor area, with dinner tables and the head table set around it
  • A room that takes uplighting well — warm color on the walls and stone changes the whole feel after dark

What We Learned Working Here

Friedman Park splits the day between the lawn and the event center, and the walk between them is part of the experience. The ceremony is outdoors at the pavilion; everything after it happens inside. Here is what mattered most from where we stood.

  • The pavilion ceremony is out in the open with the lake behind it, so it needs its own sound — we set up a separate ceremony system on the lawn rather than stretching anything from the event center
  • Guest seating spreads across the grass in front of the pavilion, so a wireless microphone on the officiant is what lets vows and readings reach the back rows
  • Because guests walk inside after the recessional, it helps to have music already playing in the event center as people arrive
  • The event center is a big, open room with a high ceiling; announcements need to be clear and unhurried so the far tables hear every word
  • The dance floor is a defined section of the room with tables right around it, which makes the move from dinner into dancing feel natural
  • With the room lights down and uplighting on the walls, the floor becomes the focus, and open dancing worked well once it began

The Friedman Park ceremony site is open lawn, a covered pavilion and the lake behind it — a beautiful setting where nothing carries on its own. We treat the ceremony as its own event with its own sound, so the moments that matter most are heard, not just seen.

Dinner & Announcements

Reception & Sound

Inside, the event center is one large open room with a high beamed ceiling and the head table and guest tables set around the dance floor. Sound here is about the guest experience: people should be able to talk over dinner, understand every toast, and feel the energy lift when the dancing starts.

  • Announcements that carry to the far tables of the event center without anyone raising their voice
  • Dinner music kept low enough for conversation under that high ceiling
  • Toasts everyone can follow — the microphone handed to the right person at the right moment
